FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When should I book a newborn session?

I recommend booking your newborn session as early on in your pregnancy as you feel comfortable. My diary can get full very quickly and I only take on a certain number of clients in order to accommodate babies who decide to come early or late. Once you have an idea of your due date I recommend getting in touch in order to secure your session date.

When should I book a maternity session?

When you book your maternity session is entirely up to you and the type of photographs you envision. I recommend booking for around 28-34 weeks when your bump will be full and a photography session won’t be too draining for you.

What should I wear to a maternity session?

Whatever you feel best in! The main thing is that you're comfortable and feel fabulous. I recommend choosing floaty fabrics such as chiffon and solid colours always work best. Try to avoid garish patterns or distracting logos. Long, floaty dresses often create the best images. I do have a selection of custom made maternity dresses (one size fits all) available which you are welcome to try too.

What do I need to bring to a session?

I recommend clothing in neutral colours with no big logos or patterns and something that your baby will be comfortable in for the duration of the photoshoot. I have a vast array of props and items therefore you don’t need to bring anything, other than your gorgeous baby, unless you have a particular item you would like to include. I always ensure the studio is running warm to keep your baby and happy and comfortable. It can sometimes feel a little hot for us adults so make sure you dress accordingly.

How do I book my session?

To book your session you can contact me via the contact page on this website or via my Facebook page. Once I have answered any questions you may have I’ll send you a contract to sign and you will need to pay your non-refundable booking fee. Once your booking fee is paid we will confirm the date and time for both your session and initial consultation.

Why do you recommend shooting newborns when they are less than 12 days old?

Newborn photography sessions are recommended for between 4-12 days as this is when babies are most sleepy and settled. After 12 days they will be harder to keep calm and settled and the session is likely to last 2-3 hours and be a more stressful experience for everyone involved. Up to 12 days babies also have a ‘newborn curl’ where they curl up beautifully when sleeping allowing us to photograph them in various settings and poses with ease.

When do I get to see the images?

You can view your image from the comfort of your own home via your own private online gallery approximately 2 weeks after your session.

Can I make the payment in instalments?

If you would like to discuss a payment plan with me feel free to contact me and we can discuss your options. I am happy to accept small instalments in the run up to your session however am unable to release any photographs until payment is received in full.

Can I purchase all of the images from my session?

I do not currently provide or sell RAW or unedited images.
